The article contains information about the academic and popular science achievements as well as the effects of the social activity conducted over a period of half of a century by Aleksander Kociszewski, PhD, a historian and regionalist known in Ciechanów, researcher of the Napoleonic era in Mazovia, co-founder and director of the National Center for Documentation of Regional Cultural Societies, and a long-term president of the Ciechanów Academic Society. The study is an attempt to synthesize the achievements of Aleksander Kociszewski on the 80th anniversary of his birth and the 55th anniversary of his academic activity.
