This is another account published in "Studia Mazowieckie", a record of events seen from the inside and refl ections noted on the spot in the first and subsequent days of martial law in 1981 and 1982. In his diary, the author – then a student of the Warsaw University of Technology, member of the underground structures of the NZS (Independent Students’ Association) and "Solidarity" – described the events in which he participated as well as those he observed. He presented current reports from listening to Western radio stations – BBC Radio, "Voice of America", "Radio Free Europe" about strikes in Poland and various protests around the world against the introduced martial law. He tracked and recorded live TV and radio news. He compared information from domestic sources with news from Western stations and wrote his own comments on the spot.
